| I am in the process of doing a complete engine build up for my TT. All the internals have been done and I am just waiting on the heads so that it can be put together. ( see my profile for my upgrades in you are interested) Yesterday I had asked if anyone has seen any FMIC intercoolers that have been laid horizontal opposed to the traditional vertical stance that we are all accustomed to seeing? I was not able to explain it clearly and Joel was kind enough to host the 2 pics I sent him. Which are posted above. If I have my intercooler mounted vertically about 30% of it would be obstructed by the front facia that I have. ( Greddy as you can tell by the photos) As a result the fellow who is doing by build up thought of mounting it almost flat thereby the entire intercooler would be utilized more effectively. ( it is on a slight angle facing up) When he sent me the pictures last night I was uncertain of how good it would look for one thing and how effective the wind travel would get into the intercooler and actually cool things down a little. I stopped by the shop today and I looked at it in person and it looks better in person than it does in these photos. Not only will the entire intercooler be used by the air flow this way the radiator gets some more air flow as well. What I am intending on doing is that I am going to make a vent that will funnel the air to the intercooler through the opening on the front facia...inaddition I also have a NX intercooler chiller set up for the intercooler as well so I am thinking that the air flow that goes through the intercooler should be cooler as it exits. Any thoughts? Thanks again Joel for hosting the pics for me. Rohan
